Education Experiences

Machu Picchu and the Galápagos Islands are just two of the bucket-list expeditions included in the price of the Spring and Fall study abroad programs. Previous students talk about their experiences in these blog posts.

Halfway through the program, you’ll adventure to the Galápagos Islands, where you’ll snorkel with sea lions, see the turtles and famous, preserved Lonesome George at the Darwin Research Center, hike through lava fields, take boat tours, walk through lava tubes, and watch for Darwin’s renowned finches.

The program concludes with a trip to Machu Picchu, the legendary Incan city hidden in the mountains of Peru. There, you’ll see the infamous stone walls of the Incas and listen to the stories of this powerful empire that ruled for such a short time, but had such a profound impact in the history of Latin America.

Other trips included in the price for the semester programs include trips to the capital city and Mitad del Mundo in Quito, the jungle town Tena in the Amazon rainforest, the indigenous towns Saraguro, Salasaca, and Patate, the world-renowned artisan markets of Otavalo, natural hikes above 4,000 m. in El Cajas National Park, the charming country towns Chordeleg, Giron, Tarqui and Gualaceo, and a visit to the bustling coastal metropolis, Guayaquil.
