Homestay

Students embrace the Ecuadorian way of life by living in a homestay that is a 10-15-minute bus or tram ride from campus. They also develop their language proficiency in Spanish by practicing with a host family or matching with a family that knows some English (depending on the student’s language experience).

To be matched with the ideal host family which meets their needs, students must fill out the ‘Homestay Questionnaire’ as honestly as possible. Once the Questionnaire has been received, the Host Family Coordinator discusses in detail the students’ preferences, personality, and interests with their future Ecuadorian family.

Students receive an email from the Host Family Coordinator one or two weeks before arriving in Ecuador, containing information and details about the family that best suits them! Our careful process aims to guarantee a pleasant stay that leads to an unforgettable and rewarding experience.

Our homestay families provide a unique opportunity to become immersed in the culture by allowing students to inter with locals on a day-to-day basis. All host families provide 3 meals per day, private room, laundry service, and Wi-Fi in their homes.
