Full Immersion Spanish Program (FISP)

The Full Immersion Spanish Program is one of our individual-oriented programs that immerses students in the language and culture while giving them the freedom to involve themselves in the community. To provide a solid base for learning the language, individuals must enroll in the FISP program for at least two weeks. There is a four-week maximum; however, if you wish to continue taking classes afterward, we encourage you to enroll in Spanish Tutorials at CEDEI.

The program includes (per week):

• Homestay with a local family (3 meals per day + laundry).
• 20 unaccredited hours of 1-on-1 Spanish instruction.
• 1 Pottery class.
• 1 Latin dance class.
• 1 Cooking class (within two weeks program).
• 1 weekend excursion to a site of historical or cultural interest near Cuenca.

The CEDEI Spanish teachers are professionally trained highly-qualified native speakers who have years of experience teaching Spanish. The first two hours of class focus on grammar, while the second two hours focus on conversation, providing a well-rounded and practical base for learning the language. The classes are tailored to meet the student´s individual needs.

Application

You can start this program at any time. However, you need to apply at least two months before the start date. This will give you enough time to prepare to travel to Ecuador and get to CEDEI on the expected date.*
