Spanish Placement Exam
All students interested in enrolling in any of our programs must take the Spanish Placement Exam. This exam assesses your proficiency across the first four language levels offered in our five-level program based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
- Level 1 – A 1.1/Novice High
- Level 2 – A1.2/Intermediate Low (Intermediate Low)
- Level 3 – A2/Intermediate Middle (Intermediate Mid)
- Level 4 – B1.1/High Intermediate (Intermediate High)
The exam aims to identify your strengths and weaknesses in various Spanish language skills, allowing us to recommend a course that enhances and advances your studies.
- Beginner: This exam assesses proficiency at levels L1 and L2. If you exceed L2, you’ll take the intermediate placement exam.
- Intermediate: This exam evaluates levels L3 and L4. If your proficiency surpasses L4, you may advance directly to Level 5 – B1.2 Advanced Low.
