Sandy, a native of Cuenca, holds a degree in Tourism from Universidad del Azuay and brings more than 20 years of experience to her field. She is passionate about international education and relations, viewing them as a means to connect diverse cultures, languages, and people. In her free time, Sandy enjoys traveling, exploring new cuisines, and meeting new people. She also loves watching movies and cherishes moments spent with family and close friends. Her travels have taken her throughout Ecuador and to countries including the United States, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Spain, Germany, and France.
Elisabeth Rodas

Elisabeth has been with Foundation CEDEI for over 14 years, initially serving as the Director of CEDEI’s English Program for twelve years. She deeply values her direct interactions with both teachers and students. Holding a master’s degree in English Language Teaching from Reading University in England, she is also an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Languages at Universidad de Cuenca. Her professional interests encompass language teaching, program administration, and academic writing. Elisabeth has conducted research on writing groups to create dialogic spaces and support faculty development, with her findings published in several international journals. Having participated in various study abroad programs during her undergraduate studies, she recognizes the importance of firsthand experience in new languages and cultures. In her current role as the Foundation’s General Academic Director, she is committed to continuing the vision of CEDEI’s founders by promoting cultural and academic exchanges that deepen our understanding of the diverse peoples and cultures of the Americas.

Tania Uyaguari Academic and Host Family Coordinator

Tania, from San Bartolomé in the province of Azuay, has been a vital part of CEDEI’s International Programs since June 2005. She began her journey as a Spanish teacher, a role she found immensely rewarding. In 2008, Tania was promoted to Academic Coordinator, and in 2023, she expanded her responsibilities to include coordinating activities with our host families.
