Discover CEDEI’s Semesters in the Andes!

CEDEI offers two enriching semester programs in the Andes: the Spring Semester focuses on the environment, Latin American literature and history, and Spanish language, culminating in a visit to the wonderful Galapagos Islands. The Fall Semester emphasizes indigenous topics such as race, gender, and politics, alongside Latin American literature and history, ending with an exploration of the iconic Machu Picchu. Both programs take place in Cuenca, Ecuador, and are open to students from various majors, regardless of their Spanish proficiency. Experience a unique academic and cultural journey with CEDEI!

B2 Spanish level required (high intermediate)
4-5 courses (12-18 US credit hours)
Materials included
05 Orientation sessions
Homestay with a local family (3 meals per day + laundry + Wifi)
Lectures
Participation in cultural activities (dance, cooking, pottery)
Weekend guided excursions ( e.g., city tour, Cajas National Park, Ingapirca).
Semester break trip
Ongoing support (24/7) from Coordinator
Final 6-day tour to the Galapagos Islands (Spring semester), Machu Picchu (Fall semester)
Welcome Kit (notebook, pen, SIM card, bus card)
Requirements: the submission date for all documents is based on the chosen semester.
