Develop valuable classroom and intercultural skills while co-teaching at a local school.

The Student Teaching Program allows students pursuing various bachelor’s degrees in Education to teach abroad in a multicultural environment, enhancing their cultural competence. During their time at the school, student teachers cultivate essential skills, such flexibility, adaptability, and cultural awareness. At the same time, they improve their Spanish-language abilities while immersing themselves in the local culture. (brief description of the program)

  • Six to eight-week program (according to the home institution’s requirements)
  • B1 Spanish level required (low intermediate)
  • 05 Orientation sessions
  • 120-140 hours Practicum at a local school (includes transportation)
  • 16 hours survival Spanish intensive course based on the student’s individual level
  • Homestay with a local family (3 meals per day + laundry + Wifi)
  • 02 lectures
  • 02 dance lessons
  • 02 pottery Class
  • 02 weekend guided excursions (e.g., city tour, Cajas National Park, Ingapirca)
  • Welcome Kit (notebook, pen, SIM card, bus card)

Requirements:

  • Application Form
  • Spanish Placement Exam
  • Passport photo (passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the date the student returns home).
  • * A signed Liability release document provided by CEDEI.
  • * A signed Letter of Commitment provided by CEDEI.
  • * An FBI background check (apostilled in the student’s country), an official requirement from the Ministry of Education in Ecuador.
  • * These documents need to be sent to oip@cedei.org

Note: No Spanish required. However, a minimum level of Spanish will make the experience more enriching.
